LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AREA ACTIVITIES, 1999-2007
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The local government was created in 1974 about of former Funtua Administrative area. Since the creation of the local government Education Authority there are sixty three schools under its jurisdiction which include present Kafur and Kankra local governments.
There are Education officers in various villages which include Malum,fashi, Kafur, Kankara, Dankanjiba, Dayi, Burdugau ‘K’ and Dutsin-kura which was later transferred to Gazoki.

Similarly, the LGEA is divided into seven zones headed by Area Inspectors of Education which include:
Malumfashi (A), Malumfashi (B), Dayi, Dansaka, Karfi, Yaba and Dansarai.

The following contributions were made by SUBEB to the LGEA for the development of education.
Malumfashi local Government Council has made the following contributions to the development of education of education.
* Rehabilitation of Twenty (20) Primary Schools
* Completed of one block of three classrooms in different schools.
* Help with fund to purchase prices during the local level of Quiz, Debate and Qur’anic recitations competitions.
The Parent Teachers Association working hand in hand with the local Government towards development of Education.
The LGEA recorded the following achievements
1. 1999 - 1 st Position of Maryam Abacha Inter Primary Schools Quiz Competition in the state.
2. 2001 - Winners of SPEB chairman inter Primary Schools Quiz Competition at zonal level
3. 2002 - Winners of annual National Conference of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN) Titled “Math as an Essential Tools for Universal Basic Education (UBE)” 27 TH August, 2001, at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic.
